Reflections...

I wanted to share this poem with you that I wrote. I think that sometimes when you miss someone, or think about how you could not manage without them you contemplate some crazy things. Love can be cruel, it can scar and hurt your soul in so many ways. It can take over your life until there's no turning back, and this is what this poem is all about.

I am inspired visually and sonically quite a lot. I think that when something makes you feel something then its quite special. This is inspired by tragic love stories, and also by a clip I saw in a music video which touched me a lot.

It's far from perfect, and I only just wrote it but I wanted to post it for you to read and I'd love some feedback.

Reflections

I wake to the crisp spring breeze through my window,
The piercing sun blinding a room so dark and still,
Reaching for your hand in the place you once lay,
When I remember once more that my soul is scarred.
Into the ceiling I stare, unable to contemplate any further,
If life is made for two then my world has died,
Looking deep into the crystals of the beaming chandelier,
A shiver holds my body as reflections of you fill my empty world.

My silk gown draped over my shoulders,
Though I’m still naked without your loving,
I need your warm embrace to hold and guide me,
I feel so lost, like I can’t stop running.
To get to a place where you are, where you stand,
And where our eyes can meet once again,
Cause though you have been gone for so long,
In my heart reflections of your memory shall always remain.

Walking through to the kitchen I think of us,
Boiling the kettle and making toast, the things we used to do,
I lean against the sideboard where you used to stand,
In my milky morning coffee I see a reflection of you.
Your eyes look deep into mine, so alive and bright,
It all comes back, all the fun and smiles and laughter,
Holding hands and long walks along sandy beaches,
Reflections of my happy ever after.

Without you here I just can’t settle,
So tense, I can’t relax this heavy memory of you,
I need to see your face and hold your close,
But you are gone, so long, what can I do.
So I clasp my hands and bow my head, please God,
I speak a prayer of hope, tell you of my love,
Though there is no bringing you back, you are already gone,
In the shards of my shattered heart I see reflections of you.

Slowly as I go I journey to the closet,
And take out a hat and gown, a solemn tar black,
Slipping into my clothes, in the mirror I stare,
A lone reflection of you is staring back.
With a deep breath I get into the car we drove,
In the days where the world was you and I,
With foot on gas to the place where love and life shattered,
In one lone teardrop your hazel eyes stare back into mine.

And so comes the time when the being of the end begins,
One foot out of the car onto the dusty rock I feel your embrace,
My guardian angel I long to see your face, feel your kiss,
Staring into the deep ocean sky I know this is where I belong.
I pace gently to the edge, and ponder the fateful night,
How you felt, what you thought, and hope our fate is the same,
As I close my eyes I see my shattered soul and my glass heart,
And one last reflection of you as I fall high to your love.

Carmen

I think this video is so beautiful and inspiring. Lana Del Rey wrote and sang the amazing Carmen, and subsequently directed and produced the accompanying video for it.
Check out the self titled 'Biopic' below...

Chezza Del Rey?

Check out this new song from Cheryl's new album A Million Lights. Ghetto Baby was written by Lana Del Rey, and is a proper Lana tune with the best sides of Cheryl thrown in for good measure... basically its very good!

Rita Ora is tipped to be the next Rihanna! She had a hit in the US with How We Do (Party) her first two singles Hot Right Now and RIP went straight to number 1 right over here in the UK. Check out some pics of the grimey diva right here...
